Terms of service
Effective 16 June 2026.
1. Who we are
Fledged is operated by Fledged Technologies Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. Throughout this document, we, us, and our refer to Fledged Technologies Ltd. You refers to the individual or organisation that holds the account.
2. What the service is
Fledged provides search, alerting, and export tools over publicly available UK company register data sourced from Companies House under the Open Government Licence v3.0, with postcode and SIC enrichment from open datasets credited in the footer of every page. The service is sold on a subscription basis. Plan limits and credit allocations are described on the pricing page and are part of these terms.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Bulk-resell, syndicate, or redistribute the data as a substitute for a Companies House feed.
- Bypass the per-request rate limits, scrape pages outside the documented API, or share credentials between unrelated individuals.
- Attempt to extract officer or PSC personal data at scale. Officer and PSC information is shown in-app on a per-company basis only and is never available in CSV exports. Programmatic enumeration of officer records is a material breach.
- Send marketing communications to individuals in a way that breaches the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) or the UK GDPR. Postal-first contact to a registered office is generally permitted under legitimate interest; electronic contact to a personal email or mobile is not, unless you have a lawful basis.
- Use the service to build a competing data product or train a language model on the underlying records.
4. Credits, fair use, and plan limits
Each plan includes a monthly credit allocation that resets on the renewal date. Actions deduct credits as listed on the pricing page. Free and entry-tier plans hit a hard ceiling at zero credits. Pro and Agency plans permit a soft overage up to twice the monthly allocation, billed at the rate published on the pricing page. Credit top-up packs are one-off purchases; bonus credits expire 90 days after purchase and drain before monthly allocation.
5. Anti-abuse and account suspension
We monitor request velocity, IP address variance, user-agent changes, and concurrent sessions to detect account sharing and automated scraping. Accounts that trip these thresholds may be rate-limited, locked for up to 24 hours, or referred for manual review. Persistent or severe abuse is grounds for permanent suspension without refund. The decision and the evidence are recorded in an immutable audit log and available to the account holder on request.
6. Suppression and rights of the people in the data
Any individual or company can request removal of their record from our search results via fledged.uk/legal/suppression. Suppressed records are excluded from search, alerts, and exports within one working day. We do not require account holders to respond to data subject requests routed through us, but we will forward complaints where appropriate.
7. Payment, refunds, and cancellation
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. You can cancel at any time from the billing page; access continues until the end of the paid period. We do not pro-rate refunds for unused time on cancellation. Credit top-up purchases are non-refundable once consumed. If we suspend the service for our own reasons unrelated to your conduct, we will refund the unused portion of your current period.
8. Availability
We target 99.5% monthly uptime measured at the API edge but make no binding SLA on the entry tiers. Pro and Agency customers may request a written SLA addendum. Scheduled maintenance is announced in advance on the status page.
9. Liability
The data we surface is reproduced from public sources and may contain errors, omissions, or delays. You are responsible for verifying anything material before acting on it. Our liability for claims arising out of the service is limited to the fees you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
11. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes are notified by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance of the new terms.
12. Contact
Questions to hello@fledged.uk. Suppression requests via the suppression form. Data protection enquiries to the same address; for unresolved complaints you may also contact the Information Commissioner's Office.
