Sole trader processing — Article 14 transparency notice
Issued under Article 14 of the UK General Data Protection Regulation, for personal data Fledged Technologies Ltd has obtained from sources other than the data subject.
1. Who we are
Fledged Technologies Ltd (company number to be inserted), registered office to be inserted, ICO registration number to be inserted. Contact: privacy@fledged.uk.
2. What personal data we process
- Trading name (which may include your personal name)
- Trade category (e.g. catering, electrical, gas, building)
- Business / trading address as published by the source register
- Trade body membership identifiers (e.g. Gas Safe number)
- Date the record first appeared in a public register
We do not process your personal email address, personal telephone number, date of birth, national insurance number, financial data, health data or any special-category data.
3. Where we obtained it
- Food Standards Agency Food Premises Register (food.gov.uk)
- Gas Safe Register (gassaferegister.co.uk)
- NICEIC + ECA registered installer registers
- Federation of Master Builders + TrustMark approved tradesperson directories
- Local council licensing registers (taxi, alcohol, late-hour, street trading)
4. Why we process it
Our lawful basis is legitimate interest under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f). We make UK trade and licensing information searchable for accountants, insurers, accountants and B2B service providers.
We have completed a Legitimate Interest Assessment (LIA), available at /legal/lia, including a balancing test that recognises the heightened expectation of privacy that natural persons hold.
5. Who we share it with
Our paying customers may view your record in-app. We do not export sole trader records in bulk to anyone. We do not contact you for marketing purposes and we do not enable our customers to send you cold email through Fledged.
A current sub-processor list is published at /legal/privacy#sub-processors.
6. How long we keep it
Each sole trader record is retained for a maximum of 12 months from the date of last successful re-verification against its source register. After that, the record is permanently deleted unless an active legal obligation or a paying customer relationship requires longer retention.
7. Your rights
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your record (right to be forgotten)
- Restriction — ask us to stop processing your data while we investigate a complaint
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Complaint — lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk / 0303 123 1113)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@fledged.uk or submit a suppression request at /legal/suppression. Requests are honoured within 7 working days; erasure is normally completed on the same business day.
8. No automated decision-making
Fledged does not make automated decisions about you under Article 22 of the UK GDPR. We do not score, rate, classify or take any decision that produces a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
9. Consent capture via Fledged Launch wizard
If you submit a quote request through Fledged Launch, we capture two explicit consent ticks:
- Fledged processing consent — we may process your contact details for the purpose of fulfilling your quote request.
- Supplier contact consent — selected vetted suppliers may contact you by email, phone or post about your enquiry.
- Marketing consent (optional) — Fledged may send occasional marketing emails about new supplier offers; you may withdraw at any time.
Consent timestamps, IP address and User-Agent are stored alongside the lead record for audit. Withdraw any consent at /legal/suppression.
10. Updates to this notice
We will publish material updates here and notify you (where contact is possible) at least 30 days before they take effect. The current version is the only version that applies.
